Rochdale Transport Hubs

Many residents use Rochdale's train station, bus station and public transport links for work, shopping and travel, often leaving their vehicles parked for several hours. Unfortunately, thieves know this and may target vehicles that appear unattended for long periods.

Before leaving your vehicle, take a few moments to make sure it is locked, secure and completely empty of valuables. Items such as bags, laptops, mobile phones, wallets, tools, shopping and loose change can attract opportunist criminals. Even items hidden under a coat or left in the boot may encourage someone to break into your vehicle.

Where possible:

• Park in well lit, busy areas.
• Remove all valuables or keep them out of sight.
• Check doors, windows and sunroofs are fully secured.
• Take sat navs and mounting brackets with you.
• Never leave keys inside the vehicle.

A few seconds spent securing your vehicle can prevent the inconvenience, cost and distress of a theft or break in.

If you see anyone acting suspiciously around parked vehicles at train stations, bus stations or car parks, please report it to Greater Manchester Police.
